… leaving Batavia for patria in 1648. Arriving back in Java in early 1650, the vessel three months later stranded, together with four other ships, on a reef off the island of Kabaena. By then Tijger had sailed four times from Europe to Asia and made three return voyages, covering roughly 100,000 nautical miles.
